Tap
Tap Dancing is the only type of dance that is native to America. It trains students in developing rhythm and coordination as well as teaching them to think and react spontaneously. With proper training, it is beneficial in developing creativity.

Ballet
Ballet is the basis of all dancing. It requires concentrated and repetitive study and demands a high level of self-discipline. Poise, grace and coordination, along with music appreciation, are accomplished through proper ballet training.

Pointe
Pointe, or toe dancing as it is sometimes called, is an advanced form of Ballet on Pointe. Students should never be put on their toes without first mastering extensive ballet technique and skills and proper body control, nor should they be allowed to dance on Pointe before their bodies and muscles are developed.

Jazz
Jazz is basically a modern interpretation of ballet. Therefore, ballet is a pre-requisite of jazz. It is usually performed to but, not necessarily limited to the popular music of today.

Acrobatics
Acrobatic dancing should not be confused with gymnastics. Acrobatic dancing includes training in body exercise, body development and body control, along with coordination and acrobatic skills such as cartwheels, backbends, splits, etc. Like all other forms of dance, there is a certain foundation which must be mastered before advance training can be taken.

Lyrical
Lyrical is a cross between Ballet and Jazz. Essentially, it is an interpretation of Musical Lyrics.

Creative Movement
Creative Movement for pre-schoolers ages 3-6, includes basic techniques of choice in ballet, tap or acrobatics and consists of flexibility exercises, coordinating their bodies to music and learning novelty routines. Any ot the above classes also helps to increase basic motor skills. Creative movement can create new opportunities for successful learning. The early successes can also increase a child's confidence.

Hip Hop
The first and original dance associated with Hip Hop is break-dance. Newer styles are danced in an upright manner in contrast to break-dance with its many ground moves. There are many funk dance techniques that are encompassed in this style such as popping, locking, improvisation and krumping.

Contemporary
Contemporary dance draws on modern dance techniques developed in the first sixty years of the 20th century, as well as newer philosophies of movement that depart from classical dance techniques by altogether omitting structured form and movement.

Musical Theater
Musical Theater is a form of dance combining music, songs, spoken dialogue and dance. The emotional content of the piece – humor, love, anger – as well as the story itself, is communicated through the words, music, movement and technical aspects of the entertainment as an integrated whole.
